Screening for Plagiarism

All manuscripts submitted to Indonesian Physical Review are screened for similarity using Turnitin before proceeding to peer review.

As a general requirement, the overall similarity index should not exceed 15%, excluding the bibliography, properly quoted material, and other justified technical similarities. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 15% will normally be returned to the authors for revision before further editorial processing.

The similarity percentage is not the sole basis for determining plagiarism. The editorial team will examine the similarity report to assess the source, extent, and nature of the overlapping material. Manuscripts containing unattributed copying, inappropriate paraphrasing, duplicate publication, or other forms of plagiarism may be rejected regardless of the similarity percentage.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts and for appropriately citing all sources. If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, retract the article, or take other appropriate action in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy.
